Price: Solo $39 a month or $390 a year. Workouts $69 a month (up to six coach and admin accounts). Team Basic $129 a month. Team Premium $249 a month.
How you start: Solo, Workouts and Team Basic have a self-serve "Get Started" button; the Team tiers also offer "Book a demo". No free trial is listed.
Writing practices: Yes. "Plain-text workout writing that feels like pen and paper", with a parser refined over roughly a decade.

The meet system of record, with workouts in the top package.

Price: Bronze $170, Silver $395, Gold $570, listed as purchase prices with no subscription term. Upgrade from version 7.0 or earlier $59; product replacement after 24 months $25.

Two different jobs share the phrase. One is club administration: registration, dues, meet entries, a website. The other is coaching: writing the practice, running it on deck, taking attendance and keeping a season record for each swimmer. SportsEngine Motion and SwimTopia are the first kind. MySwimSet, SwimShare and the lower Commit and MakoSwim tiers are the second. Commit and MakoSwim sell both as you move up their tiers.

Which of these is cheapest for one coach?

As of October 29, 2026, the published monthly prices for a single coach are MySwimSet $19 (free through March 31, 2027), SwimShare $19.99, MakoSwim Solo Workouts $29 and Commit Solo $39. Hy-Tek Team Manager Gold is a $570 purchase with no subscription term listed, which is cheaper than any subscription if you keep the same version for several years. Always check the vendor's pricing page; numbers change.

Which ones let coaches write practices in swim shorthand?

MySwimSet, Commit Swimming, MakoSwim and SwimShare all parse typed shorthand into sets. Hy-Tek Team Manager has workout creation in its Gold package. SportsEngine Motion and SwimTopia do not list practice writing on the pages we read.

Which ones check swimmers against USA Swimming time standards?

MySwimSet checks every logged time against USA Swimming motivational and championship cuts, NCAA, YMCA Nationals and USMS automatically. Hy-Tek Team Manager tracks time standards from the Silver package up. SportsEngine Motion offers access to USA Swimming’s official times database through a partnership announced in May 2026. Commit Swimming, SwimTopia, MakoSwim and SwimShare do not list time standards on the pages we read.
